Baby Food Steamer Processor

homemade baby food?
I’m a first time mom and I just started feeding my baby solids. He did really well with the cereals so now we are working with veggies I decided to make his food at home but I don’t really know what kinds of veggies to use, how to make them etc. I have a steamer and a processor I tried the basic carrots I bought Gerber Squash because I had no clue about that one (it’s not something that I would personally eat, I’m very picky and I don’t want him to be like that). I heard about avocado which I think I will try next and all the recipes I see are the same green beans peas carrots but what about tomatoes lettuce cucumbers broccoli potatoes. Like I said i’m a first time mom and I don’t know so please be kind if it sounds silly to you I just want to learn and give my son the best that I can. Thank you in advance
You can buy a small butternut squash, peel it with a potato peeler, chop into cubes and steam it good! Then you only need a fork to mash it (which is better for babies within the right age range so that they can get used to thicker stuff, not the runny jar versions). Same goes for sweet potatoes and carrots. Avocado are a great first food as not much work on your part! Tomatoes are acidic, so don’t bother with them for some time. Cucumbers and lettuce won’t work out very well in their full form. Maybe you could juice these items, or blend little bits with some fruits to make smoothie type of drinks and spoon feed them to your little guy. At the right age, peas whole that were frozen, then thawed out under running warm water are great. Broccoli florets steamed to a super soft consistency are great later down the road too! No need for specialty combination when you are making his food. Have fun with it!! It gets interesting to see what things he’ll take and how far you can go with the veggies!
