Baby food processor recommendation?
I am looking for a baby food processor so that I can start controlling the texture of the foods I am feeding my 10 mo old. Is it worth it to get something smaller and advertised as being useful for baby food? Are there any out there that also steam the veggies?
I am not much of a cooked veggie eater myself, so I am entering a whole new world to make sure my son is eating healthy. I have also seen lots of recipe books out there.
Can anyone recommend a processor they love or a recipe guide?
Thanks!

There is a nice one by William and Sonoma (I’ll find the link). But it is really expensive. It steams and purees the vegetables.
To be honest…I used a pot to steam and good old Kitchen Aid blender and it worked great. They are on purees for such a short time it almost isn’t worth it to buy anything more then that.
As for recipes…I love
This book is also pretty good:
just use a blender on hand blender it does the same job for half the price!
annabel karmel does great baby food recipes and they normally have week planners, all pretty easy and healty to make!
The lindam mini blender is great, check out ebay as i am selling one that was given to me as apresent & i already had one from weaning my other daughter. listing finishes tomorrow.
I think that any blender or processor will do. Just make sure you use proper techniques for sterilization, keeping meats & veggies separated, and you should be fine.
You may even simply cook veggies until soft, and then kind of use a fork to chop it up a little. That should keep the texture good, where he can use those jaws to tear the foods a little and get good with chewing!
By the time he is 11 months to a year he will be eating healthy table foods in small portions cut into bite-sized pieces anyways so I wouldn’t invest in a product solely for this reason unless you will be using it for regular food preparation with other meals and snacks.
