Hawaiian rice balls? Mystery recipe.?
I had this wonderful little snack at work years and years ago. This Hawaiian woman brought in these little marble sized balls. They where white and sweet. It wasn’t a candy sweet but more like a natural food sweet.
I asked her what it was made out of. It was so long ago so all i can remember was rice and possibly coconut milk. They didn’t seem like just some balled up rice. The rice must have been pureed somehow. I dont know how much coconut milk was added.
They were so good but also healthy and something that you could munch on all day. She mentioned that it was a simple but old recipe that her mother made all the time for my coworkers little baby.
If you have any idea what this recipe is called or how to make it please let me know.
I did a couple of quick searches and couldn’t find a specific recipe but the term mochi came up a couple of times. Except that they are a little bigger than what you described.
