What is the difference between a robot and Smoothy maker / mixer?

I begin to wean my son on solids and I like make my own baby food. What should I buy? a food processor or blender? What is the difference? I have little money and mixers look cheap especially the smaller ones that can be hand, but perhaps the mixture of carrots or potatoes if they were put in whole? Thank you

I have both and processing of food is much better! A blender is a pain that you have to make sure you do not on too much or not quite mix, if a food processor along with more than one mixer (depending on you), you can cut, mash, cut, pulp, etc.) so you can make baby food smooth (puree) and chop it up later if you wish. a unique blend blender and that's all. You can even make things tough in a food processor, you can even cut the meat into it. My robot is awesome, I use all the time for all (normal cooking). Of course, I have a good, but really I do not regret, I use it a lot! success
