How much formula should i give my 18lb 26 in three and a half month old baby boy?
He has been taking 7 oz now about every 3-4 hrs but is that healthy? Also I was wondering could I give him less formula and just start him with organic rice cereal and some formula? He is a big boy! My son isn’t your average size 3.5 month old so wouldn’t my son eat more than an average baby?
At 3 1/2 months your baby should still be on the feed on demand policy. That means…. they eat as much as they want whenever they want. Eating every 3-4 hours is fine. their tummy’s are still tiny at this age…. and need to eat frequently. I know my son was eating that much at that age….. and he also was a big baby. Your sons weight will begin to lvl off some in the following months,,,,,, when he begins to become more active and also starts solids. I would ask your ped. about starting rice cereal…. but babies at 3 1/2 months…. even though eating a lot….. usually aren’t ready for solids. I would try and hold off on starting cereal for about another month.
