Thanks!

Any food processor will do, even a small, inexpensive one. You really don’t need anything else, except some water to help puree the fruits and vegetables. I made lots of baby food for my kids. Really any foods can be pureed or chopped up if they’re age appropriate. I did find that baby banana food is better bought from the store; it has that custard-like consistency that you just can’t make at home.
You don’t need a special brand – or even a processor. A blender works just fine.
Buy the least expensive one you can find.
All the best.
I would just go old fashioned birdy style. Just stick it in your mouth, chew, and spit it on to the child’s plate.
I found that the Magic Bullet was a dream come true! Your not limited to just baby food, it has about a million other uses, including a blender! You can buy it everywhere, and the only other thing you would need is the foods you plan on making your baby. Also, you might wanna pick up a couple of small glass jars to store extra food in. (i dont like using plastic anything when it comes to my baby, but you can use plastic containers also)
I have a Hamilton Beach full size food processor that I’ve had since my first baby – and he is now 6 1/2. It has been through a lot, making baby food for 3 boys as well as many batches of muscadines for jam, hummus, and so many good meals. A food processor can be a mom’s best friend. I don’t recommend getting a small/mini one. I had one of those when I first got married, and it just made me mad. Mine is not top of the line. I think I spent $40 on it, maybe $30. It has stood the test of time though!
I also recommend a few ice cube trays. I got this tip from Super Baby Food. You make a batch of food, say from a butternut squash (mix with water to desired consistency), and then transfer into the ice cube trays. Cover the trays with foil or plastic wrap and freeze (takes a few hours) and then remove from the trays and store in a freezer zip-lock bag. When you need some food, just take a cube (or a few, depending on your baby’s age) and microwave it. This is extremely convenient! Plus it gives you a lot of variety in your food, and it keeps for a while. You can even swap with mom’s who use this method. And, you only have to make food a few times a month.
I would recommend any mid-line, full-size processor. I would check out Target or Walmart and pick one up.
One of the best ways to make baby food is to use a juicer rather than a food processor/grinder as the juice can be drunk by the baby and by you and the pulp left in the juicer can be eaten by the baby. The pulp is ground very small and is easy to eat for the baby and is very nutritious and so is the juice. There are different brands of juicers and some cost less than others and the ones that cost less look almost the same as those that cost more. The important consideration is to buy a juicer that is easy to clean by hand after you use it as most can’t go into a dishwasher. You may be able to find one at a good price at Target, Costco, or WalMart. I have a Jack La Lane juicer that cost me $100.00 but there are some that look the same and cost around $50.00 to $75.00. I recall seeing one at Target for $65.00 that looked like a Jack La Lane juicer and appeared to work almost the same. I suggest not buying a cheap one because you may not be happy with it and it may break down or not work as will as you want it to. The Jack La Lane juicer works very well. I bought the stainless steel one. They also make a plastic one. You will save money and give both your baby and yourself good nutrition were you to use a juicer and the recipes for what you can make in a juicer will give you some good ideas for what other uses you can put the juicer to such as making apple sauce. I make apple juice from it and the juice is better than any juice you can buy that comes in a bottle from the store and is very nutritious. I use the pulp to make apple sauce and it is very good. One will need a recipe to know how to make good apple sauce as just using the pulp is not that tasty. Happy eating for your baby and you.
I bought a KidCo baby food mill at Babies R Us for about $10, but you don’t really need anything fancy. If you already have a blender or food processor, that will work, or you can just mash up the food with a fork.
You can buy it from…
I hope this was helpful for you. Good Luck!
