Is a food processor really that helpful?

I’d like to start cooking more, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time with prep work, such as chopping up vegetables. So, I decided to buy the Cuisinart 14-cup food processor based in large part on the fact that the packaging says that you can put whole vegetables in the machine without pre-cutting them to fit in the chute. I know that it all depends on the recipe, but I’m wondering if the food processor will generally cut down that much time in food prep for me. Would I be better off getting a Vidalia Chop Wizard? I probably won’t be using the food processor for much other than chopping things up. Thanks.

Yeah, maybe you should get the Chop Wizard.
I cook a lot and I HATE the futsiness of chopping veggies. I don’t know what i’d do without my food processor!
If you don’t want to spend a lot try Cuisinart mini-prep plus. I have one of those too and use it a lot and it’s not too pricy!
My family has the Cuisinart mini-prep plus and it is amazing. It doesn’t have all of the pieces that can get so confusing. You do have to slice some things a little ahead of time, because it can’t chop a whole vegetable like the full food processor.
When I was a chef I spent soooo long chopping vegetables, and I would have liked to have had a food processor. It would have been great…
Hope this helps!
