KitchenAid food processor or a stand Mixer: Which to get?
I have enough points saved up on my credit card to get something really nice. I’ve had my eye on a KitchenAid Food Processor KFPM770 this whole time, but if I wait 2 more month I would be able to get one of their really nice stand mixers. I don’t know which one to get, with all the attachments that the mixer has it can pretty much do everything that food processor does plus extra. But maybe I’m wrong, I haven’t used these before. So what is your favorite thing in the kitchen? a KitchenAid Food Processor or a stand mixer? Considering I don’t have room for both anyway, which one should I get?

It depends upon what you do most in the kitchen. I used the mixer much more than the food processor because I make pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, etc., and use my mixer for those things. The only thing I use the processor for is drinks and sauces.
I agree with the first answerer, only you yourself can determine which to get. The stand mixer has a ton of cool attachments ( sold separately ) that you can do just about anything with, including a meat grinder. How cool would that be to be able to make your own ground meat blends. See, that is something I would be interested in.
My food processor gets good use though. I grate cheeses myself, make salsa, use it for making pie dough etc.
Stand mixer, for sure. I have a bunch of the attachments and use them all the time, and it is way more usefull thatn the food processor stashed in the back of my closet! Remember tho, the attachments do take up a considerable amount of cabinet space.
I grate cheese, slice potatos (all shapes) grind meat, make ice cream, and of course blend/knead with mine. Its so nice when making bread or whipping eg whites to be able to set it and walk away for 5-10 min while it does its job!
I use my stand mixer A LOT more thank I use a food processor, I have a small food processor that I use if I really need one, but the Mixer is a better value in my opinion.
This is really about what do you do in YOUR kitchen.
I love my KA food processor. I use it several times a week. I cook more than I bake.
I’ve gotten along just fine with my food processor and hand mixer for many years.
I have a good hand mixer. It wasn’t cheap.
I’ve yet to find a cookie dough that it can’t handle.
It whips cream and beats egg whites beautifully.
For my purposes, a big stand mixer takes up too much space for something I wouldn’t use every week.
Maybe look into getting a Bosch Universal Plus Kitchen Mixer. I really like it because it comes with a whisk attachment, a dough hook, an additional metal bowl to mix dough in, and a blender attachment. There are many other attachments that you can buy separately. It’s very versatile and I like that the mixing bowl comes with a cover so that the contents won’t splatter when mixing. Plus it’s great quality and should last you a long time.
