Customer Review:
I switched to this model, using the ice-50BC Cuisinart Supreme Ice Cream Makerfor years. And ‘much better. This permanently frozen ice cream mix without ice patch. clearing persistent problem in a freezer (you’ll have ice cream as well). Adheres lot of air in ice cream, which is how I like mine – but if you are a super-thick ice, you might want to look elsewhere.

Great product
This is a great product. I have made 2 batches and they came out great. I had no problems getting the dasher to fit my Kitchen Aid mixer. I highly recommend it. Just as a side note the Ben & Jerry’s book is a great ice cream recipe book to have. It has a great collection of recipies to use.
Three batches and still not right
I bought this for my K5SS lift bowl KitchenAid stand mixer. I read the reviews and since there were more positive than negative, I bought it. I did call KitchenAid to make sure it would fit my older model. First, the directions about how to attach (I use the word loosely) the drive assembly to the mixer were vague and the pictures didn’t help any. After reading the reviews I knew it was important to get it right. I did a dry run and thought I was OK. The drive assembly does not have a tight fit and there are two hole options. The directions didn’t say if it made a difference which hole to use. It did. My first batch began making a funny clicking noise right from the beginning. In about ten minutes it sounded really bad. I stopped the mixer, and tried to snug up the piece. No luck. I took it out and realized that the drive assembly had started to grind into the plastic around the hole. I refit it using the other hole and got some pretty fair ice cream. It never did get to the custard stage, but I put it in the freezer and thought it was OK. My second attempt was on a warmer day…about 83 in my kitchen. That was a disaster. The bowl warmed up too soon and the ice cream never started to get hard. Yes, I had everything very cold and the bowl had been in the zero degrees freezer for several days. The third try was today. This time I have on the air conditioning, I slightly froze my mix and I surrounded the bowl with some foam insulation. About 10 minutes into the process the ice cream on outside of the bowl began freezing up too soon. In about 15 minutes I tried adding Oreo cookie crumbs and the whole device began slipping. Trying to reattach the drive assembly and paddle to the mixer did not work, it just kept slipping off. So the outside of the ice cream bowl had nice firm ice cream but the inside was still almost liquid. I don’t know what I am doing wrong…but it shouldn’t be this hard and KitchenAid should send different attachment pieces for different mixers, or make the one they send snug up firmly on the shaft.
I’m disappointed, but I’ll keep trying. Maybe it’s my older mixer, but they shouldn’t say it would work if it doesn’t.
Love the Ice cream maker!
I purchased the ice cream maker 2 months ago and love it! I’ve made two batches of homemade ice cream so far, and it’s been super easy to use.
Great Buy+++++
Cant stop making Ice cream. Buy without worries, it is as it is said, a super good item.
very easy, very functional
Like with all the equipment we have for our Kitchen Aid this ice cream maker really works. It is super easy to use and does not require lots of mess or experience. The only thing that one should be aware of is that making ice cream (regardless of the ice cream maker used) takes time. It is not real easy to whip up great ice cream in a few hours, instead it takes about 24 hours in total. So you will always have to plan ahead. Watching too many cooking shows gave me the false impression that making ice cream is a fast process, it is not.
