Should I stay away from carrots when making my own baby food?

Someone told me that I should not use carrots when making my own baby food. They said there might be a chance of high nitrate levels so just to buy the carrots and not chance making my own. Has anyone else heard that?

my wife says the same thing, so we didn’t make carrots into baby food. After turning 1, it was fair game though

Can I use flat small rocks for parts of my kitchen back splash?

I’ve collected a nice variety of smaller flat rocks to use as a accent on my backsplash. I have an old century home and must cover cracks in the plaster. I wanted something different then plain tile. I’lladd the rocks on areas with halrdly any chance of getting dirty.I am thinking of using plain tile to do the rest….just not sure what colour would look best. Kitchen is an apple gree, with oak cupboards, a dark granit type counter, all appliances are stainless steel and black…floors oak with dark accents. The rocks I picked out are mixture of everything. I need advice on colour of tile, and any hints n how to puy rocks in as a abksplash

you shouldn’t have a problem. use mastic (adhesive) trowel it on the wall where you want to put the rocks. work in small areas or the mastic will start to set before you get your rocks up. Once they are all on the wall and the mastic is completely set i would then apply a sealer to the rocks to make clean up of the grout easier. then grout, once again small areas wiping the rocks with a wet sponge as you go. in 2 days then seal the grout. Making home made baby food?

Did anyone do this? If so did you like it?
Could anyone suggest a good place to find recipes and the correct way to make it?
I REALLY want to make my sons food and I just need to figure out how to do it =)

I made my own baby food and it was really really easy.
you need a food processor and a vegetable steaming basket.
I bought about 30 baby food jars and made him enough food for the week on Sunday’s while my boyfriend was home. And put two days worth of food in the fridge and the rest in the freezer.

I steam all his fruits and veggies and toss them into the processor
For recipes it is really easy because you don’t need to add flavor because they don’t have a taste for it and it is better for them too.

I would put cooked meat into the processor first and then mix in a vegetable to add moisture.

The nice thing about making your own food it you can make it as thin or as thick as your baby wants. It really helped my son learn how to chew

How do you clean the food trap of a whirlpool dishwasher?

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 model # DU915PWKS0 and lately it has been smelling pretty funky so I ran some cleaner through it. That didn’t seem to help and when I did a load today there were a couple spoon fulls of a dark brown almost black substance that was watery. Any ideas on how to clean this sucker out or if there is something else going on?

For your Whirlpool dishwasher, there is not a removable filter screen for the customer to clean out so you may have to run it through a cycle to clean it the black substance you found. Pull out the bottom rack and make sure that nothing is melting on the heating element. Follow some of the tips that I have to keep your dishwasher in top shape.
