Refrigerator is not making ice but water dispenser is working fine. What is my problem?

I have a kitchenaid side by side refrigerator. Model number is KSRS27C. Everything was working fine until after a power outtage (lasted only 10 secs). After that my ice maker stopped making ice but water dispenser is working fine. I had changed the ice maker once before but at that time it still filled the tray in the ice maker. Now, it doesn’t even fill the tray. What is the most likely resolution for this? I don’t mind getting a new ice maker but I want to make sure its that and not something else that could’ve been easily resolved.

The power outage could have fried the emitter boards that tell your ice make to make ice. Open the freezer door and look on the right side of the freezer where you turn the i/m on and off. If the little light flashes twice then pauses, great. Now hold down the flapper on the left side of the freezer, make sure not to block the hole. Does the light turn solid on the right. If it’s on, great. If either of these tests fail, you probably have a faulty emitter board. If those function properly, then most likely your i/m needs to be replaced. 7 out of 10 i/m’s that I see not making ice, it is because of the ice maker. 2 out of ten, frozen fill line. 1 out of 10, emitter board.

Can I use flat small rocks for parts of my kitchen back splash?

I’ve collected a nice variety of smaller flat rocks to use as a accent on my backsplash. I have an old century home and must cover cracks in the plaster. I wanted something different then plain tile. I’lladd the rocks on areas with halrdly any chance of getting dirty.I am thinking of using plain tile to do the rest….just not sure what colour would look best. Kitchen is an apple gree, with oak cupboards, a dark granit type counter, all appliances are stainless steel and black…floors oak with dark accents. The rocks I picked out are mixture of everything. you shouldn’t have a problem. use mastic (adhesive) trowel it on the wall where you want to put the rocks. work in small areas or the mastic will start to set before you get your rocks up. Once they are all on the wall and the mastic is completely set i would then apply a sealer to the rocks to make clean up of the grout easier. then grout, once again small areas wiping the rocks with a wet sponge as you go. in 2 days then seal the grout.
